about

I wrote this song specifically as a duet for Sam Wild who told me her sister sang too and said they could do a duet. It became a country styled song celebrating the joys of belonging to family. It could also easily have been called 'My Brother And Me'. Unfortunately, Sam was unable to do the song so I sat on it until I found someone suitable to sing it. Nicky Steel sang all the vocal parts and this is the first song to feature Accordion as well played beautifully by Colleen South.I don't write too many happy songs but this one definitely is upbeat. Hope you like it!

lyrics

MY SISTER AND ME
(Words and Music by Bruce Neilsen)

Verse 1

You’re my sister
You’re family
We stick like glue
My sister and me

Verse 2

You annoy me sometimes
But can’t you see
We’ll be friends forever
My sister and me

Chorus 1

Sometimes you speak
Down to me
But I know you care
My sister and me
Through thick and thin
You know we’ll survive
Through good times and bad
I’m glad you’re alive

Solo

Verse 3

I’m glad we are
A family
My mum, dad and brother
And my sister and me

Verse 4

My sister and me
As thick as thieves
My sister and me
It’s as good as can be

Verse 5

We’ll get older one day
But I don’t care
My sister and me
We’ll always share

Verse 6

Memories and history
Good times and bad
My sister and me
I’ll always have

Chorus 2

Blood runs deep
In family
Just like
My sister and me
I’m glad
I’ve got her company
I’m glad I’ve got
A sister for me

Chorus 3

My sister and me
As thick as thieves
My sister and me
As good as can be
My sister and me
As thick as thieves
My sister and me
As good as can be

Fadeout Chorus

Woh oh oh oh oh my sister and me
Woh oh oh oh oh my sister and me
Woh oh oh oh oh my sister and me
Woh oh oh oh my sister and me
Ooh Ooh
My sister, my sister and me
My sister and me
My sister and me
Who oh oh oh oh
